Crazy scenarios.
No cars included because don’t want to fill in credits.
Most important question of the day is who Biden picks as VP.
Options are - Harris or Warren... But what if...
What if he picked Pelosi.
Biden is deemed to old and too senile. Get’s pushed out. Pelosi becomes President.
She picks Hillary Clinton as her VP.
Then Pelosi is deemed to old and senile. Hillary becomes president.
Game over.

This reads like a conservatives wet dream because all they want to do is talk about Hillary when no one else is.
So you sleep well?

I am conservative. I do not want hillary as president under any circumstances. I haven’t slept well in years.

My understanding is that it’s between Susan Rice or Kamala Harris. I might marginally prefer Warren to those two because she’s nominally to their left, but I think making the VP a woman of color is a good idea. I’d like Barbara Lee but she’s wayy to o left for Biden.
Hillary’s not going to happen, but honestly that would be so crazy/stupid I almost want it to just for the hilarity that would ensu e.

I’m definitely not conservative and I don’t want Hillary as POTUS either. Mostly cause I’m tired of these fucking Boomers, so fuck Joe Biden and Trump too.
I’d be really happy if we never saw another 70 year old run for office again.

I don’t think Warren’s in the running any more.

Never going to happen of course.
I’m not sure Pelosi would even want to run as VP. And Biden wouldn’t want to pick her.
More to the point, if the Vice Presidency is vacant, the President can’t just appoint whoever they like to fill it. Both houses of Congress have to approve the selection. For example after Agnew resigned, Nixon had to pick a VP (Ford) who would be acceptable to the Democrats in order to get him confirmed, and following Ford’s ascension to the Presidency, there were months of confirmation hearings before Rockefeller was approved. I’m not sure you’d find a single Republican Senator to vote for Hillary as VP, and even if the Dems take the Senate, they wouldn’t be able to appoint Hillary with the filibuster still in place. If they removed that rule, I still don’t think Hillary would be the candidate the Dems would be eager to select, especially if you just pushed out a president for being too old to elevate an 80+ year old Pelosi.

well, that’s age discrimination....
I would vote for a working stiff. Miner, oil rigger, farmer. Someone.. Anyone without millions in a bank

Can you just imagine? I don’t actually want it to happen, but imagine what sorts of craziness that would ensue.
I don’t think there is anything that would prevent two presidents from resigning. It is totally possible.

Well that’s a new one and would certainly throw the talking heads for a loop.

Biden did say he’d eliminate the filibuster
....
![]() 08/10/2020 at 10:47 |

Not exactly:
Biden told reporters that, although he supported the filibuster in the past and still harbors hopes for bipartisan compromise, the level of defiance from Senate Republicans could influence his thought process.
“It’s going to depend on how obstreperous they become,” the former vice president said of Senate Republicans who might filibuster legislation championed by a potential Biden administration. “But I think you’re going to just have to take a look at it.”
But frankly it should go if it’s going to be used for basically everything. It’s not at all healthy for the minority party (whichever one it is) to just obstruct every bill and confirmation.

the difference between the Republican party and the Deocratic party over these last few years nicely summed up. The Republicans would absolutely do it because they could, the Democrats absolutely would stop and ask if they should before they did...

I can’t see how anyone can look at the last several years and get “ the Democrats absolutely would stop and ask if they should before they did” out of any part of it. They’ve been flinging literal shit at the walls trying to make anything stick.

If he picks Pelosi as VP, he loses. I’m pretty liberal and I wouldn’t support that. I just wouldn’t vote for President.
Everything is just so.... shit.

I snarked about this earlier: Clinton was elected 28 years ago, and he's younger than both candidates this year. Let that sink in.

Still better than what we've got now!

No, I would prefer not to “let that sink in ” but I did drop that little bon mot into a group chat with the homies.

Right, that’s absolutely why 77

Gotta be tough being a conservative these days. At least the liberals are mostly the same old same old, but what has taken over American conservatism is a freakshow on a good day.
